Traditional greeting cards are made of paper and other materials and mass printed. The e cards are similar to greeting cards in the sense they convey messages, but with the major difference that they are made using digital media. These e cards or more specifically electronic cards are put by the publishers on various websites. From there they can be selected and sent to recipients via the e-mail. Being paperless, they are eco-friendly and as they need not be posted tangibly, they are delivered instantaneously. Also these can be customized or personalized by adding animations, music, pictures or personal messages unlike a real card. With the availability of free e cards on many websites, there is no extra cost of sending e cards.
